Genre: Dystopian Allegorical Fiction
There are books that rush to rescue the reader. The Way of Lucherium does not. It waits beside them.
It begins where most stories end: with collapse. A government bard—compliant, praised, deeply confident in the world’s moral structure—watches a house vanish in a silent blaze. Not just a building, but an entire worldview. He walks away physically intact, but with no story left to tell.
What follows is not his rise, but his fall—into the forgotten districts, the alleyways of human leftovers, places where stories no longer serve the Committees and thus are not worth remembering. Here, instead of vengeance or revolution, he finds something else: an unlicensed meal, a stranger’s hand, a voice that sings not to perform, but to comfort.
Rziha’s story does something rare: it shows a world that is broken but still functioning. It is not a rebellion tale, not an escape, and certainly not a manifesto. The system doesn’t shatter. It keeps going, indifferent. But within its machinery, something small and ungoverned begins to take root. It speaks quietly, wears no banners, and moves mostly in silence.
The great tension of the book lies not in whether the protagonist will “win,” but whether he will begin to see. Whether his fall will finally position him close enough to the ground to recognize what was always quietly rising.
The Way of Lucherium doesn’t chase change. It watches for it. And what it finds isn’t loud or obvious—but it is enduring.
