He is risen!

Matthew 28:6

“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.”

The central idea of Easter—the amazing fact that Jesus is alive—is encapsulated in Matthew 28:6. The women assume death when they reach the tomb, but instead they discover the incredible news that Jesus has risen, as He promised. Everything changes at this instant. The empty tomb represents fulfillment, hope, and triumph over death rather than loss. Because of Jesus’ resurrection, we can have faith that God will fulfill his promises and that even the most hopeless situations can give birth to new life. We are reminded of the limitless possibilities and fresh starts that Easter offers us when we too “come and see” the empty tomb.

Happy Easter Sunday, everyone!
