Finley Creek’s hospital is a place where something has gone terribly wrong. The lingering effects of a recent fire still weigh heavily on everyone, and what was once a place of healing is now a breeding ground for fear and chaos. Violent altercations among the staff, a chilling murder, and the mysterious disappearance of experimental drug boxes have left the hospital’s peace shattered. The question remains: what more could possibly go wrong? As Cherise tackles the growing tensions and dangers, and Vince steps into an increasingly complex role, one can’t help but wonder whether hope—or anything as pure—could slice through the darkness surrounding them.
Though this type of tension-filled fantasy would usually steer me away, I found myself unexpectedly drawn in. The atmosphere was thick with suspense, building steadily to a point where I could feel the weight of every unsettling event. While there were a few flaws here and there, they didn’t overshadow the core of the story. It fascinated me in a way that left me feeling the tension long after the final page. And yet, despite the unnerving twists, the book managed to deliver something I didn’t expect: a sense of hope. Even though it’s far from my usual preference of classic fairy tales, it still provided the kind of emotional solace I needed—a reminder that hope can indeed cut through the darkest of circumstances.
I finished the book needing something lighter before I could finally unwind, but that speaks to the gripping nature of the story. Hope for Finley Creek may not fit neatly into my usual comfort reads, but it certainly succeeded in delivering an unforgettable experience.
